Lot Register
The Lot Register lists every lot across all items and facilities. Use it to track expiry, quarantine stock, and trace items back to their source.
Lot statuses
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Active | Normal, usable stock |
| Quarantine | Held for QA — blocked from shipping |
| Expired | Past its expiry date |
| Exhausted | All stock in this lot has been consumed or shipped |
Atrope does not automatically change a lot to Expired when the date passes — a user or automated rule must update the status. This is intentional: some items remain usable past their printed date at the discretion of your QA team.
Expiry countdown
The Expires column shows both the date and a countdown:
- Green — more than 90 days remaining
- Amber — fewer than 90 days remaining
- Red — already expired
Supplier traceability
Each lot can carry a supplier lot code — the reference your supplier uses for the same batch. If a supplier issues a recall, you can search by their lot code to find all affected stock.
Creating a lot
Lots are created automatically when you receive against a purchase order and assign a lot code during receipt. You can also create lots manually via + New lot if you need to record stock that arrived without a PO.
Quarantining a lot
To quarantine a lot:
- Find the lot in the Lot Register
- Change its status to Quarantine
- A status change transaction is posted to the ledger automatically
Stock in quarantined lots cannot be allocated to sales orders until the status is returned to Active.
