Sales Orders
A sales order (SO) records a customer’s commitment to buy goods from you. Atrope tracks SOs from confirmation through full shipment.
SO lifecycle
Draft → Confirmed → Picking → Partially Shipped → Fully Shipped → Invoiced → Closed
Creating a sales order
- Go to Sales and click + New sales order
- Select the customer from your Parties list
- Add lines — each line needs an item, quantity, and agreed price
- Set the requested delivery date and ship-from facility
- Confirm the order
Fulfilment
When you’re ready to ship:
- Open the SO and click Create shipment
- Select the items, lots/serials, and quantities to include
- Confirm the carrier and tracking details
- Post the shipment
Posting a shipment:
- Reduces on-hand stock at the ship-from location
- Posts ledger entries (Shipment type)
- Updates serial unit status to Shipped (for serialised items)
- Changes SO status to Partially or Fully Shipped
Partial shipments
If you can’t ship everything at once, create multiple shipments against the same SO. The SO tracks open quantities per line — you’ll always see what’s still to ship.
Allocation
Atrope uses first-in, first-out (FIFO) allocation by default for lot-tracked items — oldest lots ship first. For serialised items, the picker selects the specific units.
