Reorder Policies
A reorder policy defines when and how much to reorder for a specific item at a specific facility. Atrope compares on-hand Available stock against these thresholds and surfaces alerts when action is needed.
Policy parameters
| Field | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Min Qty | The floor — if on-hand drops below this, status is Critical |
| Reorder Point | The trigger — if on-hand drops below this, status is Reorder Now |
| Reorder Qty | How much to order when the reorder point is hit |
| Max Qty | The ceiling — used to avoid overstocking |
| Safety Stock | Buffer kept above Min to absorb demand spikes |
| Lead Time (days) | How long from PO to receipt for this item/supplier |
Stock bar
Each policy card shows a live bar:
[─────────────────────░░░░░░░|──────]
^ ^
reorder point min
- Green bar — on-hand is above the reorder point (healthy)
- Amber bar — on-hand is between min and reorder point (act soon)
- Red bar — on-hand is at or below min (critical)
The vertical markers show where min and reorder point sit relative to max.
Editing a policy
Click Edit on any card to adjust the numbers inline. Changes take effect immediately — the bar and alert status update as soon as you save.
Policy vs. automatic replenishment
Policies in Atrope are advisory — they surface alerts and help you draft purchase orders, but they don’t automatically submit orders. This is intentional: reorder decisions often involve supplier negotiations, lead-time considerations, and cash flow that a system can’t fully automate.
Use the Ops Copilot to draft a PO for any item that’s below its reorder point, then send it for approval.
Coverage calculation
With lead time and safety stock, you can estimate how long your current stock will last:
Days of cover = (On Hand − Safety Stock) ÷ Average Daily Demand
Atrope surfaces this when integrated with a demand forecast. Without a connected forecast, it shows static thresholds only.
